A Winter RUN with Friends from the MPF Adventure Club & TEAM

Fun times tackling the icy trails of Harriman State Park on the 1st day of WINTER! With the trail conditions constantly changing this time of year, from snow to different variations of ice, it’s imperative to carry dependable traction devices. Most of us for this adventure wore the Kahtoola MICROspikes or NANOspikes on our feet which always makes for a fun, yet cautious adventure. These are light weight traction devices that you can comfortably carry along with you and are easy to take on and off. They allow you to navigate icy terrain safely. They will wear out after a season of heavy to moderate use, especially in our area where there are plenty of rocks and boulders to scramble over so this can become a once a year purchase but they are well worth it.

There’s nothing like time shared in the outdoors, running, sliding, gliding, laughing, all eager for the next hill to climb or magical vista. If you haven’t been to the Harriman State Park area lately, all sorts of fun things are happening. Be sure to stop at Seven Lakes Station in Sloatsburg, New York for great food and craft beer after your adventure! #trailtotap
