Made it UPHILL to the ZUMA Lift at A-Basin
We have been really enjoying earning our turns over at Arapahoe Basin Ski Resort in Colorado! We just took a ski lesson with Tim Stroh, a Telemark and Alpine Instructor at A-Basin. This helped greatly. We headed back the next day to skin up to the Zuma Lift, which sits at around 12,400 feet and then practice what we learned the day before.
Traveling on skis is all new to us and we are loving the challenge! We are looking forward to heading out into the backcountry one of these days but with the avalanche danger at an all time high, we will stick to A-Basin and then eventually head on over to Blue Bird Backcountry.
It was a wintry day with whiteout and blizzard conditions at the top. It was fun to see others out enjoying the challenging conditions as they attempted to complete the Rise and Shine Rando #3 Race. Looks like A-Basin is holding 4 of these races this year. Our goal is to complete race #4 in a couple of weeks.
