MIKE SIUDY

MPF RNR Athlete

My path to running has been a bit different than many others. I never ran until I was 35 years old but I had done a lot of hiking, rock climbing, and mountain biking since my early 20's so I was no stranger to the trails. As I started doing longer day hikes while working to complete the Adirondack 46, I began to jog sections, usually to try and beat the setting sun. I had not realized that running or racing on trails was even a thing until I heard about the Escarpment Trail Run. I began to train for that race in 2011 and had a blast. I started pushing my distances up and began to enjoy the long grind of ultras. Since then I have completed over 30 events from the marathon up to 100 miles, my favorite being Manitou's Revenge 54 Mile Ultra.

Living in New Paltz, I spend a lot of time on the technical single track along the Shawangunk Ridge, running, hiking, climbing, and exploring. I also love to run and hike in the Catskill Mountains where I am close to completing "the grid", which is summiting all 35 high peaks over 3,500ft. in each month of the year. I look forward to exploring other places with the MPF RNR team this year!
