Adventure with Singletrack Explorers in the Indian Peaks Wilderness of Colorado!

Just a couple of weeks ago we had an awesome opportunity to be a part of the 2016 Hardrock 100 Mile Endurance Run! We crewed and paced MPF client Harry Hamilton during his unbelievable journey through the San Juan Mountains of Colorado which started and ended in the small town of Silverton, Colorado. Here is his race report!

After the race, we made our way back to Boulder Colorado to meet up with a few friends before we took our flight back to New York. Phil Germakian guided us on an awesome run through the Indian Peaks Wilderness. Phill is a member of the original Mountain Peak Fitness Trail Running Team and it was great to catch up with him and have him show us some epic trails.

Phil currently resides in Boulder Colorado, and hosts a running camp is his area called the Singletrack Explorers, Mountain Running Camp! He has a few upcoming camps that we highly recommend. The 1st, is July 28-31st and the 2nd runs August 11-14th.

The Indian Peaks Wilderness is located in the Front Range of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, wedged between two National Forests, with over 76,000 acres of high country! The Continental Divide runs through it, making it riddled with high mountain passes and peaks. This alpine wilderness trail system includes 7 peaks over 13,000 ft. (4,000 m.) in elevation, making it a mountain running paradise, and the perfect setting for his camp.

This camp is intended for experienced mountain, ultra, and/or trail runners, and will be focused on exploring this high-altitude environment. All participants must also have experience running or hiking at altitude to ensure everyone’s health and safety.

Enjoy!
