Out of My Trail Shoes & In the Saddle by Jules Moore
Today’s outing wasn’t on foot but on the wheels of my mountain bike. The plan was to ride familiar and new trails at Lewis Morris Park. I’m not an avid rider but I like trading in my trail shoes for my mountain bike...
A Winter Hike in Harriman State Park
Temps started out at about 40º and rose steadily through the morning. Trails were slushy, some had ice and a little snow cover, others were wet but traction was surprisingly fine at times. Looks like some cold weather is in the forecast and more rain on the way tonight, microspikes may be in order. Lets hope for some snow this coming Tuesday!
Team Hike Lead by Jules in HSP "The Lemon Squeezer & the Offseason" (21 photos & video)
Each year we look forward to November because of the changes that it brings. Cold weather slowly moves in with the winds, trees become barer by the day and the chance of snow increases each week.
Race Report: 2014 Vermont 50 Mile Run "1st Time Mountain Biker, 2nd Time Ultra Runner" by Jules Moore
The first time I participated in this race was in 2011 on my mountain bike with Philip my fiancées uncle. That Vermont year blew my mind of how though this course was and the challenge of mountain biking. Despite my lack of experience and getting my ass kicked with a steel toe boot, I had a blast!

This weekend kicked off the start to my racing season. I would represent my team at the North Face Half Marathon at Bear Mountain. I'd never run this race before but was familiar with the course since I had the opportunity to run all the trail sections. Earlier in the week the NYC/NJ metropolitan area received quite a bit of rainfall...

When I bought the Salomon S-Lab XT-6 at Campmor, I was looking for a shoe that was built with solid foot protection while providing some support. I’ve never used a Salomon product and I was intrigued to give these shoes a spin. The XT-6 exceeded my expectations in protection, comfort and overall performance.
Adventure in the Catskills Slide Mountain Wilderness (29 photos)
Gearing up for the 2014 season by heading to the Catskills for the 3rd annual Slide Mountain Loop. We tackled plenty of ice while climbing up cliffs, slid down sides of peaks and worked as a team negotiating technical sections. Today was a day to be engulfed by the beauty and strength of the Catskill Mountains.
Jules Moore "Higher Ground" The 2013 TransRockies Race Report
After taking a short three day trip to Boulder, Colorado in January 2011, I made it a point to come back and run a race. My good friend and teammate Chris Foccaci ran TransRockies years back and described it as one of the best organized and unique races he has ran. I thought this would be a great opportunity to experience the backcountry of Colorado.
