RUNNING with the GoPro Hero 7 & SALOMON Sense Rides

I headed out on the trails of Harriman State Park in New York to test out the new GoPro Hero 7 Black and a fresh pair of Salomon Sense Ride trail running shoes that I ordered from www.backcountry.com.

My feet are slightly on the wide side and I hate wearing shoes which is why you will mostly find me barefoot or wearing Luna Sandals. I have been wearing Luna Sandals since 2014 and used the Vibram Fivefingers prior to that. The other pair of shoes that I feel comfortable wearing are the Salomon Sense Rides that are featured here and the Lowa Renegade Hiking Boot in wide. I tried the Altra's for a couple of years but my feet always felt sloppy in them while running the east coast trails.

Salomon Sense Rides by the numbers:

  • Weight - 275 grams

  • Drop - 8mm

  • Midsole Toe Height - 19mm

  • Midsole Heel Height - 27mm

I have used many GoPro's in the past, looking for a minimalist setup to capture the action but was always left wishing for more. The Hero 7 Black may be just the camera I was looking for. The footage is more stable than ever and it surprisingly does come close to what a gimbal can offer. However, I just hate the thought of carrying a gimbal around, especially when I am trying to be a part of the adventure, which is why I never do and why this camera is better than any camera gimbal combination out there.

This entire video was recorded with the GoPro Hero 7 Black and edited using Final Cut. All sound, including my voice is directly from the GoPro.
