MPF Campmor Team Trail Run #1
This past Sunday the MPF Campmor trail running team had its first meeting and training run in Harriman State Park. We stood in the pouring rain greeting each other, some meeting for the first time. We enjoy training in any weather conditions and today the weather called for 100% chance of rain with a high temp in the low 50’s and the conditions of the trails being 90% covered in ice & snow.
We took off in 2 separate groups, a running group and a hiking group. The hiking group was composed of runners who raced the previous day or were just looking to hike. Hiking becomes a major part of your training if you do decide to compete in ultra’s. The trails were covered in ice and soft snow from the start, the Kahootla Microspikes and Saucony Razors (men's / women's) really worked great. The microspikes worked so well that once you gained trust and confidence in your footing, you can run at full speed on the ice.
